Register membership: Customers (students and faculty members) register their membership with the UBL system by providing their contact details.  Each customer will select a user id and password as part of the registration.

Add faculty profile:  Faculty members, in addition to the basic details, also add additional details of teaching areas, department name and the course information (course codes and descriptions).

Pre-order books: Registered students pre-order textbooks with the UBL system by providing their membership information.  Students will identify the courses they will be enrolling (or enrolled).  UBL system provides details of textbooks for those courses so that the students can select and pre-order the required books.

Search books: Students search for the books before pre-ordering.  Faculty members also search for books prior to submitting the book adoption requests.  It is possible to search book availability and details based on one or more attributes such as title, ISBN, author, and publisher.

Submit book adoption request: Registered faculty members submit their book adoption request with the UBL system by providing the ISBN number of the adopted textbook.  The system will fetch book details (title, author, and publisher) from ISBN service if these details are not already available in the UBL system.  Faculty member also provides additional details such as course code, name, % of the textbook covered by course, enrollment, and suggested stocking qty.   The adoption request may also include indicate if desk copies are required. 

Prepare purchase order: Store assistant prepares purchase order by providing list of books, price, and valid quotation reference number from publisher. A PO number will be generated automatically.  Store assistant
