5. List some benefits and/or drawbacks of recycling wastes. Why are the major types of materials recycled from municipal waste, and how are they used? Recycling has many benefits from converting trash into marketable products. I think the major type of materials recycled is from municipal waste because of the large amount of persons populating a municipality, especially in urban environments. With municipal waste you have construction material, where your household waste, and commercial waste. I also think is usually recycle over other types of waste because industrial wastes usually produces hazardous a toxic waste that would be dangerous to handle in a material made possess hazards. Now with agricultural waste, it is probably reapplied as a form of nutrient for new crops or uses a ground cover. One of the drawbacks of recycling is the fact that it is expensive, but it saves money in the decreases energy consumption all while saving space in landfills.Excellent and thorough response.

10. What are bio remediation and phytoremediation? What are some of the advantages to these methods? Bio re mediation is when an organism can clean contaminated water. These contaminates are filtered out by removing pollutants in sediment. The advantage of using these method is that it is an expensive and does not require a lot of technology.
