Biographical Sketch of Author

James A. Autry wears many hats. He is known as a poet, an author, a businessman, a workshop leader, and a highly experienced consultant. He is the author of ten books to date and a best selling author of Love and Profit: The Art of Caring Leadership. In addition to writing poetry and books, he was also the president of a magazine group called the Meredith Corporation, which published magazines like Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies Homes Journals. Autry has held many workshops that focus on leadership and management and how it relates to teamwork and creating a workplace that people can grow and thrive in as well find meaning in the work that they do. The workshops also bring emphasis to the emotional, psychological and spiritual rewards of jobs done well. Autry also is active in numerous charitable and civic organizations and received the Lifetime Achievement award for Service to the Humanities from Iowa Humanities Board and Foundation in 1988. He was also recognized as Executive of the year in 1989....
