I. Background of health insurance and how the government protection and interference of it has created our current system

A. Is healthcare insurance truly insurance and how did it come to be the primary form of financing healthcare services

B. How did the government become one of the largest purchasers of healthcare and the side adverse effects of doing so

II. What are the details about the “Public Option” being discussed in Washington?

A. What is socialized medicine and is the “public option” socialized medicine

B. How will it be funded and who will run the system.

C. What basic benefits will the “public option” offer those enrolled in the plan

D. How will the public option be structured and the best reimbursement system for its success

III. Is the “Public Option” the reform that our healthcare system needs?

A. A system to insure that all Americans have access to healthcare insurance

B. Encourage more Family physicians and General physicians that the system is lacking

IV. Disadvantages as a result of implementing the “Public Option”

A. American’s will be forced to purchase health insurance or be fined

B. The only plausible reimbursement structure would still be a disadvantage and undermine the efforts to drive down costs.
