Introduction

Within the modern work place skills and attributes of employability are ranked as important as academic qualifications. Abilities which are essential and involve development of knowledge base and expertise. Also the mind-set which is increasingly needed in order to succeed with in the modern work place. This there for means for the individual have become necessary for employment success at any level with in the business environment.

Hind and Moss, (2007) define employability skills as ‘A set of social behaviours that can help you to interact and work with other people in a variety of different situations’.

This assignment will show my employability skills to date and analyse them with the aid of reflective and reflexive practices.

Definition of Reflexive Practice.

In practical terms, this means examining critically the assumptions underlying our actions, the impact of those actions, and from a broader perspective, what passes as good management practice.

Definition of Reflective Practice.

In general, reflective practice is understood as the process of learning through and from experience towards gaining new insights of self and/or practice (Boud et al 1985; Boyd and Fales, 1983; Mezirow, 1981, Jarvis, 1992).

Analysis of employability skills

I will determine in which areas I need to improve and which areas I am happy with.

During some activities with in my work place I have used Schon’s (1987) model of reflection, he believes the reflection in action can be achieved and requires practitioners to think on the move, be able to gain from previous experiences and work instinctively.
