Quality Improvement Plan Part one

Patient satisfaction is a primary concern at Dr. Siles Family Practice. Quality improvement is an important procedure to insure such satisfaction. This paper will examine some of the quality improvement techniques that the family practice utilizes to make advances in this important area of patient care. One of the most important elements of quality improvement is collecting patient data in order to measure the procedures we use. Utilizing this data enables the administrative staff to continue with or change the direction of patient care. Each change of direction will potentially improve the overall efficiency of this family practice.

Important considerations are the timeliness of patient appointments, waiting time to see the physician, waiting time once called into care and seeing the physician, billing procedures, and, most importantly, do we make a difference in our patients' health? Some of these considerations can best be evaluated by patient input. It is also important to improve these areas so that the practice runs more timely and efficiently. The resulting patient satisfaction will promote the positive influence of our practice in the community and ensure the retention of our current patients and extend the possibility of acquiring new patients. Improving these areas will both increase patient satisfaction and therefore produce much needed financial benefits. The administrative staff has the responsibility of selecting the best tools for data collecting. Data received from patients is the most direct manner to measure their satisfaction in most areas.

There are various data collection tools which can be utilized in collecting data. One of the strongest and most used is Patient Satisfaction Surveys.
