Erikson’s Theory of Psychosocial Development

Prepared by: Anonymous

Problem statement

As you reflect on Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development, identify a crisis you have struggled with in your own life. How do you define my identity? What or who were my significant models, events and beliefs?

Abstract

Eric Erikson’s eight stages of psychosocial development were reviewed in this paper and from his theory a life crisis was identified at the fifth stage, which is identity versus role confusion. Overcoming this stage of conflict helped shape my own beliefs; however other events and models helped shaped my life as well. With this understanding of Erikson’s theory, my own development will be guided by his theory as I continue to strive to become a man of excellence.
