It is my opinion that one of the rules of success is to enjoy what you do, and Economics is a
subject that I am infatuated with. From a young age, I have been enticed by the role the
economy plays in our lives. I firmly believe that my determination to succeed, as well as my
strong numerical skills, makes me a suitable applicant for the course.

across the world encounter everyday. My passion for exploring the effects of changes in
interest rates and the fluctuation of oil prices, which have an effect on every individual in
one way or the other, has been a key influence in my decision to take my knowledge of the
subject further. Logical thinking is a characteristic that I have strengthened from studying
Mathematics as solving mathematical problems require the ability to apply multiple methods.

are regularly required. A Level Psychology has allowed me to develop my essay-writing
techniques, as well as my ability to analyse and evaluate texts, which is advantageous as a
degree in Economics requires these skills.

people with financial intelligence will make a more informed choice of whether they are
investing capital in assets than in liabilities, which would reduce debt at an individual and
economic level. The current financial crisis has further motivated me to obtain this financial
intelligence, which has fed my desire to complete this course.
My desire to study Economics has been demonstrated by my presence at a Business and Finance
course, sponsored by Merrill Lynch, at the LSE....
