Science Meets Real Life

Science has never been a great link of mine but yet it has its fascinating ways in impact us. When we think about chance and how huge of an impact it has on scientific discoveries I think of accidents. From reading several articles on scientific discovery the conclusion is that most of these discoveries occur by accident. People without significant education or experience in science still contribute in an everyday basis because we use it every day and we don’t even know it. Whether its timing your run or how far your house is from your job etc… there are so many different ways to use the scientific method in your daily lifestyle.

In this scenario the water has stopped running in my house so I have solved the problem by using all the steps to the scientific method and this is a way that every one of us can understand how it’s used. Describe how you would solve this problem in Scenario 1 using all the steps of The Scientific Method. Questions to ask myself? They shut my water down because I did not pay the bill? Or maybe my husband is fixing the faucet and did not advise anyone and shut the water down for a moment? Or the faucet was damaged where it was not turning and it stopped the flow of water. In this case you would ask yourself these questions to eliminate any possibilities of what the problem really is.

From all these questions that you have gathered you can ask yourself what kind of research or background you can gather to help you solve this problem. Background research: I went back to my recent bills to see if I paid my bill and I did so that’s out of the question. I went to the basement to check if anyone was in the basement fixing the water and no one was in the basement. I had bought in home depot a faucet 2 months ago and why would I think that a new faucet would be damaged or had problems. Once you have gathered this information this will help you understand where the problem was created and why.
