After taking this course and learning about the different types of religions that existed in the world and the ones that exist now, I chose to research the religion Jehovah Witness. I heard a lot of negative rumors, about Jehovah Witnesses and in the process I formed a prejudice view of them. From very vague previous knowledge, I only knew that Jehovah Witnesses do not celebrate holidays and that the do not attend funerals. Which has always been a bit strange to me. What follows are some very interesting yet essential facts that people should know about the life's of Jehovah's Witnesses. After I conducted this interview, my view of them changed almost instantly.

The name “Jehovah Witnesses” was adopted by a group of bible students in Center Point, Ohio way back in 1931.The Jehovah Witness movement was founded by Charles T. Russell. He had four other siblings, whom by the age of nine he had lost three of them and his mother just shortly after. His feelings about death came from what he wrote. He had no form of bible training but borrowed from other popular teachings at that time and built his own beliefs. Russell traveled all across the world teaching, and his travels enable him to see his evangelistic work first hand.

Jehovah's Witnesses, however, are Christians, they are just not Protestants or Catholics. They tend to abstain from politics and do not impose their views. They usually converse one-on-one with people using reasoning and convincing. The only difference in Jehovah Witnesses and other religions is the fact that they do every thing by the Bible. They believe that their religion has to be in full agreement with the Bible, but also be applied in every aspect or activity of their lives. Therefore, if you learn that you are doing something that is not in harmony with the Bible then you must change it.
