Introduction

Among the longest international conflicts in the globe and in the Middle East is the conflict between Israel and Palestine. These two nations seem to be smaller in size and with developing economies but then conflict have created a standoff between them; Israel played a major role in the cold war and relatively its end. Israel is a nation that never existed in the modern society until the end of world war two when a treaty that created Israel was signed. These were on the effect of the war that discriminated and led to the death of Jews by the Nazis hence a new nation was created for the Jews. Indeed, the conflict is believed to start from long time ago according to Christians and even history provides for the same conflict when there were disagreements within the Ottoman Empire and the British Rule. These form among other larger reasons that have created one of the longest and largest conflicts in the Middle East. Among the reasons that led and build the conflict are the major issues on mutual recognition of both nations’ citizens, border interests and security, general security issues, the settlement of Israelis, the control of Jerusalem and the larger freedom issues regarding the movement of Palestine’s and refugee question. Of the conflict issues, two of them areas stand as the largest conflict centers that have brought major conflict that sometimes leads to war between the two states, (Gunderson, 2004). These are West Bank and Gaza Strip. These two areas have become the major areas of interests for both nations with each nation ready to give up anything to get hold them and Israel has proved to control the two areas.
