Sky Harbor continues to operate as a publicly owned airport, but significantly different than most, as it uses no City, State, Federal taxes to support operations. Sky Harbor international revenue generated by the Airport itself covers all operational costs and continues to have A+ junior lien revenue bonds. With the experienced and effective management staff that Sky Harbor employs using a conservative and fiscally responsible practices the Airport continuously reports firm financial performance. With active management of the airports high bond rating, it keeps interest below the national standard. This allows the financial directors to use the revenue bonds to fund the large project and improvements for its facilities at Sky Harbor without the need of city, state dollars.
