Public sector and not for profit health agencies exist within the United States health care system. Many health care agencies are run by the government, Quasi-government and voluntary. The Quasi-government run agencies are supported by the government but managed privately and the voluntary health agencies can be run by private or nonprofit agencies, and there are also government run agencies. Government agencies are run by the government and funded through taxes or other government budget appropriations. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is an example of a government run agency. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is one of the most important health agencies in the world. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a federal government run agency that relies on stakeholders and partners to offer important insight in planning and evaluating, and contributions in helping Americans live long, healthy, and satisfying lives.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is one of the major operating components of the Department of Health and Human Services. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is “the” United States federal agency located in Atlanta, “Georgia” which operates as an independent nonprofit group. The agency was a branch of the United States Public Health Service and Atlanta, “Georgia” was chosen as the location because malaria was endemic in the Southern United States. This organization came in existence in 1942 shortly after World War II as the office of National Defense Malaria Control Activities.
