Brown’s article discusses the process of developing and testing a new questionnaire to determine metacognitive patterns of accounting students. In determining these metacognitive patterns it is beneficial to helping students improve their learning and will also be beneficial to accounting educators. The author uses a table of metacognitive patterns to help in developing a new questionnaire. He concludes that the study is designed to develop a new questionnaire to help in identifying metacognitive patterns of students in the circumstance of accounting education and higher education.

This article discusses whether or not the Enron collapse will cause an effect on students majoring in accounting. The authors conducted a survey to examine the issues affecting the decision for students to major in accounting. Students were surveyed on two concepts: whether the collapse would affect future students’ major and whether it would affect their present choice in major. This survey helps to provide a clear understanding as to whether or not the Enron collapse had truly played a role in the accounting major.
