Arts & Humanities Time Capsule

This time capsule was made in May of 2014. This day started off with rain and ended up being very warm and muggy. Today was Memorial Day in which we honor those that have died in combat for the United States. Most people do not work on this day as it is considered a holiday. I am a single mother with 2 biological children and 2 children that I adopted. I work for a large healthcare management company Monday through Friday with weekends and 11 holidays off. This is normal for most office jobs these days. Every morning I wake up, get the children ready for the day, and get myself ready and then we are out the door. One child is off to school and the other is off to daycare. I go off to work and take my lunch around noon. My company provides us with a half an hour lunch. I am lucky to live close to work so I go home for lunch. It is nice to get out of the office for a little bit. At 4:30 p.m. my workday ends and I go pick up the children. I then prepare dinner, do any homework the kids have and tuck then into bed around 8:30. After this I am up until 11:00 p.m. or midnight doing my school work.

Electronics are the norm of our society. People are using cell phones, tablets, laptops and televisions that can act like a computer. Some of the televisions can connect to the internet and you can access social media, music sites, and play movies or shows on demand right then and there. Just recently a new 3D television has come out. Some of the social media sites used today are Facebook and Twitter. Both of these sites allow users to posts things about their life in which friends and family can access if the user has allowed them to view. With cells phones that let you text and social media, communication among people has become less and less. People would rather text than call someone to have a...
