Should we change the Drinking Age?

It is a time everyone will never forget their eighteenth birthday. It is also time when you are really consider an adult for once in your life. At that age you become able to vote, smoke cigarettes, serve on juries, get married, sign contracts, join the military and die for your country, and also go to college party’s and be prosecuted as an adult. However, one thing that you still cannot do is buy alcohol. However not lowering the drinking to eighteen has entitled more kids to want to drink anyway. Reason being is that, you must be twenty-one to buy it in America, however I believe it should be lowered to eighteen. Lowering the age requirements has been argued for many years now for being able to consume alcohol. However I believe changing the age requirements should take place, because you have freedom to do everything else and make big life changing decision, so why not change it back to eighteen.

It has been a long talk about problem in America should we or should we not change the drinking age back to eighteen like it was back in the early 1980s before it got changed to twenty-one. The Government changing the age would stop many eighteen year olds from drinking illegally, “Allowing 18- to 20-year-olds to drink alcohol in regulated environments with supervision would decrease unsafe drinking activity. Prohibiting this age group from drinking in bars, restaurants, and other licensed locations causes them to drink in unsupervised places such as fraternity houses or house parties where they may be more prone to binge drinking and other unsafe behavior” (ProCon). Which could leave to more problems as to people putting unsafe things such a date rape drug or anything else in drinks especially for ones who are not able to drink.
