What is a American? An American is someone who loves their country, the people in it, and believes in bittering their own lives as well as the lives of those around them. Does it really matter that these individuals maybe Chinese or Mexican descent? No not at all, their ethnic background has nothing to do with being American. To say that the majority of people in the Untied States have some sort of tie with an ethnic background from a different country would be a safe assumption. This is what makes our American culture unique. Immigrants bring to the country strong family structures and strong morals. Foreigners, also help our community prosper and immigrants are what helps make America be America by being a multicultural society standing united.

In today’s American society it is not uncommon for families to be broke up by divorce or domestic disturbances. However, immigrants seem to have much more stronger family values. For many immigrants, family comes first and is also all they got. Many of these new immigrants have strong traditions and beliefs which are strict and passed down to their children. By these traditions that they bring, they set good examples for the western civilization. By receiving new cultures in society, it is a chance to observe and respect what they do and follow.

It has been said that, “Immigration is a threat to our economy.” This statement is despicable because, immigration increases purchasing therefore it increases labor. These immigrants not only take jobs, but also create them. For example, a man from Mexico comes to America. He opens a restaurant makes outstanding business and ten years later he owns ten restaurants and employees over hundreds of Americans.

Immigrants are what help America be America. They say America is just at a melting point, but in fact that’s what makes this country unique. This country has many cultures, ideas, and traditions, but we all have the same dream which is the American Dream. The...
