Never too late to study

Every decade in the history of country characterizes by some event that happened during this period of time. Time goes, society is changing, new fashions get created, new trend become popular. Each generation differs from another one, because people experience fashion, political and social influences. Thus, generations in the past were witnesses of demographic boom, sexual revolution, craziness about disco, rock-n-roll music and so on and so forth

Russian history has always been unpredictable in its turns, and right now there is a time that would be called in the future an “educational boom”. In Russia there is a tendency to get the second higher education in addition to your first diploma. People seem to be insane about studies. They are ready to spend tons of money on education, some kind certificate or diploma that will prove their smartness on paper. Almost all universities and colleges have opened up commercial departments of additional higher education. It has become a good source of money, because amount of applicants who want to enter university rises every year.

This situation in the country looks a little bit paradoxical. Most of students usually don’t like to study, exceptions are highly motivated students. The rest of kids force themselves to do homework and spend time, reading books. So what happened to lazy student and why did they suddenly change their minds? May be they understood that studies is good for them. I thought getting at least one diploma is already a challenge, but reality (or better to say statistics) shows that for most people one diploma is no longer enough, they need more and more. Where is the limit? Explosion of brains?

Actual causes of this situation are a bit complex and reflect some problems of the social and economic structure.
