Marketing is essential for any organization to succeed. Customers learn about products and services through marketing. Marketing is part of every consumer’s daily life though television, radio, and advertising.

Personal Definition

When thinking about marketing, advertising and selling a product came to mind. Marketing is the procedure in which the organization uses marketing to prompt a product and wants more customers to know about the product or when the organization has a new special going on within the business.

Marketing Definition

According to Perreault, Cannon, and McCarthy (2011) “The performance of activities that seek to accomplish an organization’s objectives by anticipation customer or client needs and direction a flow of need-satisfying goods and services from producer to the customer or client” (p. 6). American marketing association defines marketing as “marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large” (American Marketing Association, 2013).

Importance of Marketing

Customer satisfaction is one of the most important parts of an organization. Marketing is included in customer satisfaction. Having a high rate of customer satisfaction will bring more profit to an organization. When customers are buying goods, it adds to the financial achievement of any organization. Meeting the organization financial achievements are essential to staying in business. If the organization is not meeting the financial achievements, then the organization could go out of business. Organizations know the importance of marketing and how marketing has played a role in making their business grow. Organizations face many challenges in the corporate world. The organizations main challenge is keeping up with their competitors.
