What is culture?
Culture to me is about the people you are around, the group of people that you hang out with. An example would be say you listen to heavy metal. Heavy metal has their own type of culture. I’m just generalizing here but generally, heavy metal fans have long hair, wear black clothing, holes in their pants or shirts. This would be an example of culture. It’s what’s around you. Another example would be how we live. American’s have a different culture than say European’s. We do things differently here.
What is art?
Art can be a variety of things. It is different to every person. One person can believe that something is a piece of art while another person thinks it’s a piece of trash. Visual arts would be say a painting, something that someone built out of metal etc… Music has so many different forms or art. You can say that each genre of music has its own art form. For instance, people say that rap music is not a form of music because all they are doing is talking over a beat. If you listen to the lyrics though, you can see the picture that the artist is creating. Some good, some bad. The average person does not come from the “hood” but if you listen to the lyrics, you can visualize what they are talking abo0ut. Architecture is how a person builds something. They add their own style to a design. Sure, you can build a building straight up, but that’s boring. People want to have a unique place. In Pittsburgh, there is a house called Falling Waters.
