1. What can Monique do to become a more engaged in her work?

* It seems that Monique is not enjoying her job. She is more focused on how much more the attorneys are getting paid than her. She needs to ask herself, why did she get that job in the first place? She needs to be more positive about her job. She needs to ask her supervisors what she needs to do to be able to close on the sky scrapers. She needs to be more creative and positive at her job to be successful or find a different job that she really enjoys doing.

2. What can Monique do to overcome the reputation of being zombie on the job?

* She needs self-motivation and get job satisfaction. It seems that her job is boring and she doesn’t find it self-gratifying. She needs to set personal goals at her job. Ask for feedback from her supervisors to see where her job performance is. Be more outgoing and not be negative. Try to find a position within the firm that would keep her interested.

3. In what way might Monique’s parents have contributed to her lack of commitment to paralegal work?

* It seems that her parents were worried on the work tittle than her job satisfaction. They care more on what others think about their daughters’ career. Her parents are more interested in their own satisfaction than worrying about their daughter’s job satisfaction.

4. What might be the career consequences for Monique if she does not become more enthusiastic about her present work assignments?

* She could be fired. If I was the supervisor, I would first have a talk with her to see what the issues are and why her work ethics are not up to standards. I would let her know that her lack of work ethic/motivation is preventing her from being promoted or even work on other projects. I would write this counseling session down and have her set some goals to see if she can achieve them.
