Executive Summary

This report is trying to explain what is it mean by a professional and the nature of being so called professionals. Accountancy is a kind of profession and there are certain codes of ethics for professional accountants to regulate accountants from acting something unethically as a professional. This report will also point out the problems for professional accountant and will try to evaluate and analyse it.

Introduction

A profession can be described as a body of persons engaged in an occupation or a task. A professional is a person that possesses and practices a certain skills that other does not have. Professionals are experts in the field that they are working in, they are licensed to serve their clients or customers. Unlike certain employees, professionals do not work to get paid salaries; they charge a fee for their service. To be a profession, there are certain obligations to be followed to make sure that societies are comfortable and have confident with their service. Accountancy is a kind of profession. Accountant has to have specific skills to serve their client and they have obligation to act in the interest of their client.

Profession

There are few natures of professions. In the views of societies, a profession is someone working with certain types of uniform, “white-collar” occupation is the nickname that called by public. Professions are non-amateur in their working field, they are experts and experience in their duty. A profession holds a licence to do what they do. Professionals charge for their service and they are always a member of the associations that related to their profession.

There are four features that are important to someone being a professional. To be an expert, they need to master the knowledge and skills that are not shared by other people.
