Background of the Study

Doña CandelariaMeneses Duque High School was established on January 28, 1999 during the tenure of Honorable Fidel V. Ramos, the former President of the Philippines and Honorable Roberto M. Pagdanganan as the Governor of Bulacan during that time. Through the effort of Mayor AnacletoR.Meneses, the former mayor of BulakanBulacan made the construction of the school possible. It envisions protecting and promoting the right of every Filipino to quality equitable, culture-based, and complete basic education. It is a learner-centered public institution that continuously improves itself to pursue their mission.

As the school continues to increase the number of student’s population, the harder for them to organize the students records especially the manual recording of grades. It takes a lot of time for a teacher to compute manually the grades of the student in each subject. When the students completed the requirements given by their adviser, the adviser will now check the record of the students including the attendance and activities like quizzes, major examinations, projects and assignment. Then the adviser will now get the total scores and its equivalent average. Lastly, the adviser will now compute the total grades of the students in form 137.

Developing a computerized grading system for Doña CandelariaMeneses Duque High School would make the task of recording and computing grades easier for the teachers. This will not only benefit the teachers of the school but will also benefit the students because of the improvement in the accuracy of calculations and in the proficiency and productivity of the teachers.
