Abstract

This paper is about the Integrated Case Study of Valerie Young, “How Personal Can Ethics Get?” This paper will discuss how personal differences and preference can impact organizational ethics, how organizational and procedures can impact ethics, and the ethical dilemmas that Valerie is facing. Finally, recommendations will be made as to what direction Valerie should take.

Introduction

The case study “How Personal Can Ethics Can Get” focus on a marketing manager named Valerie Young. Valerie is an immigrant worker with a Chicago based international cosmetic and Fragrance Company named Wisson. Valerie is a very skilled employee who offers her company her knowledge of organizational, financial and marketing capabilities. One day at work Valerie was at the copy machine and notice a paper jam. When clearing the paper jam she recovered some invoices that had been left behind. After reviewing the invoices she discovered that her boss, Lionel Waters, was receiving what looked to be “kickbacks” through his private consulting company from the two fragrance houses that her company, Wisson was currently using. Valerie has to decide how she will handle this ethical matter.
