From a small back building workshop in Berlin to a global firm – there are few industrial corporations that can look back on such a long history of success in the way that we look back. Siemens is a global engineering and electronics company whose business strategy is based on differentiation by providing a comprehensive range of innovative products, solutions and services. Siemens' principal activities are in the fields of industry, energy and healthcare. It is differentiated since it is the pioneer in energy efficiency, industrial productivity, healthcare, and infrastructure solutions. It offers a wide range of innovative offerings that shared resources and capabilities. Siemens’ competitive advantage is its ability to optimize the strengths of each of its business segments and deliver integrated solutions to customers. However Siemens’ businesses were underperforming in terms of profitability and there was tension between the headquarters and the regional businesses. Furthermore a bribery scandal in 2007 harmed Siemens’ reputation and affected organizational climate and employee morale.
