Steven Jobs

The reason why I chose Steve Jobs is because of his driven. When he was fired as chairman of the Apple Inc. in 1985, he didn't just retire or go to work for another company, he formed another startup company called NeXT, manufacturing high-end computer workstation hardware and software. He also purchased Pixar Animation Studios and championed CG I-animation during a seminal and crucial period in the art and science field. Twelve years later, his desire to lead, caused him to rejoin Apple, which acquired NeXT. He rescued the balance sheet, but led the company toward a new period of resurgent, dramatic growth.

He demonstrated honesty and integrity when he apologized for the illegal acts of some of the Apple employees. He insured that measures were being put in place to prevent further financial violations in the future.

He showed his self-confidence in himself and the company's products as a whole, when he decided to utilize Microsoft Office for the Macintosh operation system even when Apple and Microsoft were battling for market shares in the personal computer business. This decision was in the best interest of his customer's who would benefit from using Office.

His need to communicate with various stakeholders, highlighted his job-relevant knowledge that he must accumulate about many subjects in order to be able to communicate with folks that specialize in a multitude of technical fields.

He demonstrated his intelligence regarding the matters of negotiating deals with suppliers, recognizing business opportunities in the marketplace, having a long-term strategy for sustained growth, and understanding end-users needs and desires. When it came to communicating with stakeholders that specialized in a multitude of technical fields, Steve had job-relevant knowledge about personal computers, mobile phones, and portable media players.
