Abstract:

In this paper a parallel hybrid motorcycle is developed. It is based on combination of electrical and internal combustion engine. Electrical elements such as motor, controller, charger and batteries are analyzed. All these elements are assembled on a 125 CC motorcycle with continuous variable transmission (CVT). Electrical fuel injection system, digital display and controller are designed and assembled on the motorcycle. The motorcycle may work in hybrid, electrical and normal modes. The mechanism is modeled and analyzed in ADAMS and SIMULINK.

Keyword:

Hybrid, electrical DC motor, continuous variable transmission (CVT), internal combustion engine (ICE)

Introduction:

Hybrid means combination literally. In automotive industry, hybrid is a vehicle which works by more than one energy source. The main experiences of a hybrid vehicle are established in 20th century.[1] However fundamental investigations of the Hybrid Electrical Motorcycle (HEM) are related to last three decades. Firstly in 1993 HONDA Motors fabricated one HEM, consequently in 1999 AVL made another one. In this paper an HEM is provided by two energy sources (fuel and electricity). The components mentioned before are explained as follows:
