Student Personal Professional

As a Student Personnel Professional, I believe an institution should cater to all if not most of the needs of its students. Taking this into consideration I have selected the Banner Student to do a fast track evaluation. The Banner Student is a student information system designed by SunGard for use in higher education. This system integrates academic and administrative functions making it easy to manage data whilst providing prospective students, both traditional and non-traditional, as well as faculty online access to information they need on a twenty four (24) hour basis. An institution using the Student Banner system offers current students the opportunity to search and register for courses via term or date, and retrieve information on financial aid or status. Their prospective students may apply for admission and its’ faculty can easily manage course information/outline, timetable and grade as well as giving students advice.

Banner Student offers its users personalized communication which as a result encourages the institution to build better relationships and offer individualized learning. Administrative processes are made more efficient therefore increasing staff productivity, keeping them abreast with operational activities while simultaneously minimizing paperwork. The system keeps an institution in compliance with requirements from external agencies especially those focusing on international scholars.
