Case management in a juvenile justice system provides services that are designed to sustain the youth in the community and better equipped to be a productive member of society. The primary purpose of case management is to enable juveniles to use their natural strengths and resources to achieve their goals. This is an intense process in which the juvenile works closely together with the counselor/manager to assure that the treatment services are individualized, culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate.

These services are designed to address the clients changing needs, and plays a pivotal role in coordinating required services from across the continuum care system. The primary function of the case managers work is to build a trusting and productive relationship with the youth and caretaker and to provide the support and resources that the youth needs to achieve goals, stabilize his/her life and improve his/her quality of life.

A functional case management system is essential. A strong case management system is a cornerstone of effective release planning, aftercare, and system transparency and accountability.

There is many treatments out there for a juvenile to be able to achieve their goals and be a proactive citizen in the society. Many treatments like alcohol and drug abuse. This treatment won’t be able to work unless you have the full support of the juveniles, family, schools, and even the manager. For a child to be able to succeed he/her will need the full support/encouragement to be able to successfully succeed the program and be able to excel in society....
