Executive Summary
Kenya School of Government, Nairobi Campus (KSG) is a government based institution based in Lower Kabete where I was privileged to do my internship for 8 weeks. I learnt of the institution while it was still Kenya Institute of Administration (KIA) but developed interest while I was looking for my internship. The institution was recommended by a friend who also did his internship there. He cited of the great experience and the much he learnt during his internship. After being in KSG, I concur with him. There is so much to be learnt especially the hardware part of Information Technology.
I did write an application letter and attached my academic certificates and Mount Kenya University’s recommendation letter then sent them to the Human Resource Manager, KSG. I was later called for an interview by the Information Communication Technology Principal. After a successful interview, I got the admission letter and started my internship on 12th May 2014. The end date stated was 11thJuly 2014.
Several conditions were stated in my admission letter concerning my internship. Some of the conditions were: the organization only offered tea and lunch as allowances, the working hours were 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
During the internship, I did software and hardware maintenance of all the computers in the organization. Hardware and software maintenance was a consistent task in KSG which included user support. I worked at the ICT call centre where...
