It’s Not Just Against Fad Diets. It’s About Education

The metabolism is very complicated, but it is simple at the same time – just eat right, a balanced diet, along with exercise. I am angered by the amount of false information I see out here on the internet, and on TV. Simply cutting down 1,000 calories and losing weight doesn’t mean you’ve succeeded, it means your metabolism was wrecked in the process. Fixing the problem takes long. I was one to believe fad diets. It was my senior year in High School and I began my journey to living a healthier life; Fitness, weightlifting and so. Never did I expect, along the years, to find out how difficult it is to actually avoid unhealthy eating with all the fake information out there, sometimes we are overloaded with information and we cannot decide what’s true or false, real or fake. I was overweight, now I’m in a good place with low body fat. I tried multiple diets; one was almost no carbs, all protein style of eating. I did intermittent fasting as well, which proved to be quite successful, just difficult to keep up on the daily.

Your diet dictates how you feel, and bodily functioning. Fad diets, those companies who say that it comes with instructions, fail to provide knowledge, and wisdom. There is evidence that these calorie restricting diets end up causing harm, such as the metabolism slowing and deficiencies develop that will be hurtful as we age, and not only does it cause harm but also the weight loss is quickly gained. Since a fad diet is a sham, all it teaches you is unhealthy eating habits. While they advocate not ingesting sugar at least, most are incomplete style of eating which end up having macros and micros deficiencies. Like I’ve mentioned, I was victim of many fad diets, some were better than other. In the end, I damaged my metabolism, it is slower than it was before, it’s apparent based on the amount of food I am eating and how my body looks.
