1. What do you see?

I see a picture of Frida crying and suffering, thinking about Diego. Wretched and weeping she looks mournfully out at the viewer. Her long her wrapping itself around her neck suggesting that she feels strangling by the situation. Also I see that that Diego has a third eye on his forehead.

2. How does it make you feel?

While looking at this picture I get the sense that there is going to be a lot of pain and suffering because of the image of Diego portrayed on her forehead, she thinks a lot about him. With her hair around her neck I also feel her breath is taken away.

3. What are the elements in the image that work together to create that feeling?

The dark colors of the picture, the tears in her face, the hair wrapped around her neck and the third eye of wisdom on the Diego’s forehead, all these elements work together to create the feel of pain and suffering.

4. What do I infer from or associate with these elements?

I infer or associate pain and suffering since this is a visual image about two persons Frida and Diego that may have emotional problems.

5. Based on your inferences or associations, what do you believe the image communicates?

The picture communicates her emotional anguish, and obsession with Diego. He being the obvious source of distress reflected on her painting

In the picture The Love Embrace of the Universe, the Earth (Mexico), Diego, Me and Señor Xólotl by Frida Kahlo I see plants, a dog, the sun as the light, the moon as the dark, the Universal Mother embraces...
