Team,

As you are all aware Interclean will be merging with Enviro-Tech in the coming months. As we go through this endeavor, I want to ensure that as leaders we continue the high level of professional behavior we accustomed to maintaining.

This is an exciting time for our company as we move forward with this merger. Great opportunities will be ahead of us. As with any merger there will be opportunities to gossip about what is happening, and what might happen. I would ask that you and your team’s not to gossip, and I assure you that I will continue my open door policy throughout this process, and will answer any questions you or your team’s may have. This memo will outline several areas we need to be sure to adhere to.

1) The behavior of each supervisor or manager may impact each team’s output or productivity positively or negatively. Your teams will be sensitive to your reactions to the merger, and your positive or negative attitude will go a long way to making this a positive venture. On the other hand, if your team feels that you do not support this merger, it could place a negative spin on the deal, and negatively impact the overall deal. Please keep your communication to your teams in a positive manner. If you need help with this please get with me. Cultural differences, even in seemingly similar organizations can break the potential gain of a merged alliance

2) It will be essential that you show your team your confidence of a positive outcome of the merger and support each individual when, and if they voice concerns regarding the merger and each individual’s future. The resulting composure and support from each of you can aid in maintaining productivity throughout the merger process.
