Kudler Fine Foods has been establish since 1998 there is currently no competition; however there is many supermarkets being open in different geographic areas. Kudler competitors consist of a few specialty shops, major supermarket chains and some online gourmet shops. As long as Kudler Fine Foods offer fresh and healthy products at a reasonable price, then Kudler Fine Food can keep competitors from entering the marketplace. Kudler Fine Foods still has room for expanding gourmet food stores in each of the present marketplaces and growth into other markets. The economy could change and customers could stop buying gourmet foods. Gourmet foods cost just a little bit more than what normally fine foods would cost in a supermarket. If the people's cash flow decreases customers will buy fewer gourmet items and purchase products at the local supermarket. Brazil Monitor article suggest that supermarkets will continue to take the lion's share of sale by value, but of increasing importance are the convenience, discounts and hypermarket formats, which are all expected to register significantly growing rapidly over the forecast period (Brazil Monitor, 2010). Kudler Fine Food wants to consider creating new sales or discounts during the holidays to keep customers coming for gourmet products. Smaller outlets in the form of discount stores will also experience considerable growth rates, albeit from a lower base (Brazil, Monitor, 2010). These supermarkets sell many products that Kudler's sells and the smaller outlets are beginning to advertise specialized offers on organic produce and free-range meat. These supermarkets will start attracting people who see themselves as super gourmet shoppers.
