Wedding Dance Analysis

The story tells us that there is a conflict between the culture and the love of Awiyao and Lumnay. This story also tells us how culture or society can destroy and interfere different relationships. The story raises us a question if whether the readers are willing to fight for their love and for what they truly believe and want against their own culture or not.

In my opinion, even though a person has a strong belief in a certain culture or religion they could still change their principles for the person they love, since it is innate for us humans to have affection to an another individual. In most story and films, says that love is the strongest emotion because this emotion or value makes us do or change for the persons we love and even ourselves. Just like this story even though it was against their culture Lumnay was willing to stop the wedding and tradition because she loves Awiyao, but eventually fails probably because she lacks incentive or love.

To sum things up, I believe that we should do what’s best for ourselves because at the end of the day we are the only one who holds our own life and happiness. It is up to us if we will let our society control our life or not. We should be true to ourselves in spite on what other people will say because we could not have true peace of mind if we are trap by our own hypocrisy.
