INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion, a catholic school in the province of Capiz, guided by the ideals and virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary, aims to provide quality education to the whole province of Capiz (CPC College Student Handbook). With the help of its competent teachers, professors and instructors, the institution itself became efficient in inculcating lessons, concepts and values into the minds of students, making it the center of excellence in the whole province. The Rector, together with the Directors and Deans of the different colleges and departments, works hand-in-hand in keeping the school strong and firm (CPC College Student Handbook). The aforementioned school administrators help each other in managing and organizing information essential in keeping the institution stable and alive.

One vital part in managing a school is to have a good enrollment system. The enrollment is the very first step that a student must undergo in order to be enlisted in the college (http://www.wikipedia.org/enrollment.html). For decades, this institution, more especially the College of Maritime Education, having large number of enrollees, suffered from uncountable delays due to manual and unreliable processes of enrollment. Perhaps, this institution needs an innovation that will lessen the student’s burden during rush hour enrollment sessions.

For the past years, technology emerged at a very fast rate. Technology defined itself as a powerful tool that can change the world as we know it. As technology enhances, modernization in different civilizations around the world arose. As a result, modernization became an essential part for every school in the archipelago for it simplifies the workloads of the faculty, staff and students but most of all; it takes learning to another dimension through productive innovations and technological advancements.
