National Hero?

Who is our National Hero? Is it Jose Rizal? Or Andres Bonifacio? Who really has atheright to be called National Hero?

Jose Rizal wrote 2 novels the Elfilibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere he used pen and paper to opened the eyes of every filipino due to the dynasty of spaniards he used non-violent way to defend filipinos, he also let every filipinos to realize that the Spaniards abused them and making them slaves, he used his 2 novels (El Filibusterismo&Noli Me Tangere) to have the sympathy of every filipino who suffered from the time that we are conquered by the Spaniards, He also offer his life to achieve the independence of the Filipinos who are being contempt by the Spaniards.

Andres Bonifacio used Bolo or BRUTAL way to have the freedom of the Philippines to solve once and for all the Katipunan leadership in the province, Bonifacio who was at that time holding Morong, has invited to mediate between two councils. Bonifacio used to fight with his Bolo to get the sympathy of the other Filipinos who are hungry to fight the Philippines by the Spaniards who makes us suffer. By that time when Bonifacio won the fight and died the spaniards began to take the upper hand with fresh reinforcement coming directly from the Spain, the towns of Cavite were pounded nevertheless, the Spaniards experience heavy casualties. He believed that we should have total independence and our own government. A government run by Filipinos.

But for me It has been an unremitting issue and an endless argument for every Filipino who they believe our national hero is. Whether it is Rizal or Bonifacio to take the label. Don’t they realize that both of them are heroes in their own means? How do we define a hero? Is it based on their strength or courage to fight for their country? Someone who shed blood to gain freedom and independence or martyrs who are ready to sacrifice themselves for thesake of the country? Both of them did fight for us just in two different means such...
