The sad truth is that every state in America is undergoing an economic hardship. The American society has been in the middle of a recession for many years now. With the nation undergoing a recession it can felt in many different ways in many different States. There are not many states that are immune to the different circumstances of a recession. As the United States tries to restore the economy back to its prior financial prowess the citizens are not the only individuals who are suffering from the consequences. Law enforcement and government agencies alike are also feeling the brunt of the recession as budget cuts and budget shortfalls and further budgetary concerns begin to become more of a problem and a concern.

In one of the articles I picked that Valerie Honeycutt Spears wrote about budget cuts. Just months into the New Year members of the house had already predicting that there was going to be a $200 million budget shortfall in the future. General funding revenues are not were expected to be and acknowledging that they had been on a decline for the past nine months.

The author of this article is stating the facts, which are indeed that the state of Kentucky is in financial trouble. They have made recommendations that the state continue to cut unnecessary spending and have made predictions that some of its spending IS necessary will also be cut. What this means is that funding for agencies like law enforcement, and the like will also feel this move and be hindered by it.

As a person who has lived in Georgia for a long time, and in a small community area at that, one has not been a stranger to the economic hardships that Georgia and its statesmen have felt. It is hard to not to be aware of the circumstances of the state when they surround one.
