Proposed Plan for “Digital Bangladesh by 2021”

A nation without vision is a nation gone astray. In keeping with those aspirations, the democratic government has declared the “Vision 2021” in the election manifesto which targets establishment of a resourceful and modern country by 2021 through effective use of information and communication technology-a “Digital Bangladesh”.

For achieving the “vision 2021” Bangladesh government already taken several steps or different program. And some of them has been already achieve by the government like online birth/death register, online visa application, online ticketing system for BD railway and also people can paid their tax, wasa bill etc by online. Government also start a program called Learning and Earning Development Project, the main purpose of this project is to train up the youth people for outsourcing and freelancing

Proposal for “Vision 2021”

Different people have different point of view for achieving the vision 2012. But my point of view or suggestion to achieving the vision 2021 for planning commission are:

Though we are developing nation we don’t have much success in IT sector, in this sector we just start our journey. As the world is emerging before we develop our ICT sector we need more skilled ICT professional. Government could be launched for different people of the different level of education. It may be the IT discipline, Diploma courses, Training programs, only the introductory courses etc.

Introducing a toll free number for citizen of Bangladesh and also another number for foreigner where people get all kinds of help, like police help, medical service, transportation, tourist information, agriculture information, education etc.

Promoting ICT to facilitate market linkage and offer access to business development services for micro and small enterprises (MSE) can be another step to integrate ICT into non-ICT projects

Due to the high tariff levels, the cost of hardware and software in this country...
