Kudler Fine Foods is a high end store that appeals to customer looking for quality foods and are willing to pay a higher price for it. In order to better appeal to their higher end clientele Kudler is wanting to implement a customer loyalty rewards program. The idea behind this program is that their customers are more interested in the quality of the food than the price they have to pay for it so rather than focusing on a discount program the suggested program will offer incentives like airline upgrades, high end gift items, or specialty food items.

In order to implement this program Kudler will be tracking their customers purchase patterns. By tracking the purchases this enables Kudler to observe purchasing trends and to stock their stores accordingly by seeing what sells and what does not. This very tracking information leads to what is likely the most pressing security and ethical concern regarding this program. Due to the very nature of the program, which involves gathering personal customer information like name, email, telephone number, and purchase history, there is the possibility that information will be leaked. Customers value their privacy and would not want their personal information leaked. In many rewards programs offered by other stores the store will sell customers personal information and/or purchasing trends in order for the purchasing company to try to advertise to those customers. Being a high end store Kudler would not want to sell customer information. This could result in bad word of mouth and loss of customers.

The laws regarding the sharing of information vary from state to state so could potentially vary from location to location though I believe a universal policy should instituted company wide.
