Case 8:

Issues:

* There was an indirect blocking and discouragement of new ideas generation, especially in terms of the financial department. It was asking to approve the cost and benefit analysis for every idea generated.

* The old formal processes and procedures blocked the innovative minds of international foods.

* Josh and his team couldn’t able to generate new ideas unless they go through Ben, this shows that this organization is still embedded in its own old culture and wasn’t open to change.

* Creativity and innovation weren’t appreciated, thus there was no process in place to help generate new ideas and implement them. This new organization is full of energetic and creative people but its culture was not open to that even though it could have high potentials.

* Too many procedures and processes in place that can make everything confusing and inhibit the creativity and innovative minds, and block the generation of new ideas. Even booking the meeting room is kind of a complicated process.

* Josh the new team manager and international foods, is facing several issues with the existing old minded staff.

* Josh is becoming more acclimated to the way things are done at IFG, him and his team are being bogged down by how the processes and procedures work at the company. Josh came from a different background, he helped glow foods reach the younger market.

* One of josh’s main challenges is to win the support of the team members so they trust his new ideas.

* The team lacks enough beliefs in being able to do the job they are originally hired to do, they don’t have the freedom in being innovative, they need the proper tools and ability to gain knowledge and stay up to date to new ideas. Josh has a challenging role to keep his team on track, making sure they don’t lose excitement and won’t become discouraged.
