Sample answer: My favorite room in my house is the den! Before moving in a couple years ago with my family, I had never lived in a place with a den before. There’s something so fun about having a special little room placed off to the side of everything else. It’s cozy and intimate. The simple act of watching movies on a stormy night becomes heightened, like the room’s only purpose is to provide enjoyment. The den in my house also has a door that opens right to the backyard. On nice days, I leave that door open and let the cool breeze and sound of chirping birds into the room.  I love it. It’s such a peaceful part of the house!

080427CNS2:When you go on a vacation, do you prefer to hurry to your destination, or do you prefer to take your time enjoying

I like to take my time enjoying all the small details when I’m on vacation. So many things can potentially be new and different from what I’m used to. In particular, I always love to go to the grocery store when I’m in a new place. For some reason it’s thrilling to me, seeing all the foreign products and names. You get a better sense of what the true day-to-day life is like for the people that live in this different country or state. It’s a more interesting picture to me than a lot of the standard tourist spots. But, tourist spots aren’t all bad either! I just prefer to weave between the popular destinations and locations that are more off the beaten path.

I think teachers make the biggest contribution to society.
