Brief History:

Qatar, officially known as “State of Qatar”, is an Arab country located in the Arabian Peninsula. Although Qatar’s true independence is not achieved until September 3rd 1971, when it obtained true sovereignty from the British Empire, Qataris consider the 18th of September “Qatar National Day” due to the fact that in 1878 with the help of the British armada Qataris and British forces fought of the Bahraini army and gained true geographical unification as well as founding the state of Qatar [1]. Qataris as a people have been in the area for centuries; the Arabian Peninsula is considered to be one of the few places on earth where civilization has adapted from the Stone Age all the way to the Modern time. In that time the Qatari landscape has seen many civilizations such as Mesopotamia, Persian Empire, Ottoman Empire and British Empire [3]. It has been stated that the Qatari region was one of the first breeding grounds of the institutionalized Barter system as well as an early hub for the creation of commodity exchange. From its independence in 1971 Qatar has been in the forefront of Arab social liberalization. From their endorsement of women suffrage to municipal democratic elections, all the way to being the first Arab country in the region to have a Roman Catholic Church in their country. Qatar has demonstrated progress in a difficult region of the world [3].
