Morningside Elementary is located on the south side of Brownsville, Texas. It is part of

60 schools in the Brownsville Independent School District. It currently has an enrollment of 813 students.

PHILOSOPHY

Morningside’s philosophy is idea that you have to individualize yourself to create a successful learning environment. A first class education sparks a child’s desire to learn and master their surroundings. All children have different interests and a variety of learning styles. This enables them to progress at different rates. A successful educational program must be adjusted to meet a child’s needs and talents. The best type of education is one that recognizes each child’s ethnic and cultural heritage in an atmosphere of tolerance and respect.

MISSION

The mission of Morningside Elementary is to provide an educational environment that is supportive of all students and is safe. An essential part to this process is the idea that the school, parents, and community form a partnership in which there is mutual respect and success as the common goal. Our students will develop as individuals to meet all the challenges the future holds for them.

VISION

All stakeholders at Morningside Elementary will foster students who will excel in all academic areas. They will also foster there socio-cultural and emotional growth. Morningside Elementary will treat all students as equals and be flexible to all teaching styles. Students will walk come to an inviting atmosphere where the learning communities’ main goal is to produce critical thinkers and lifelong learners (CIP, 2014).
