Disney the Corporation

Disney Corporation is and has been one of the most sought after vacation spots for years. Disney is everywhere from their own stores in malls to Disney World in Florida, and Disneyland in California. Disney has something for every person, every generation, and people who work there exemplify this. Working for Disney has many benefits and rewards.

The Disney Corporation started on October 16, 1923 by a man named Walt Disney (Disney Timeline, 2013). Disney has seen several changes since 1923 because of the advances in technology and of course, what was going on the world. From years of 1923 – 1928, Disney was a part of the silent era and Disney was strictly on a short movie basis (Disney Timeline, 2013). In 1928 – 1934 was the birth of Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse is arguably the most iconic and recognizable character ever. During the years of 1934-1954, Disney was dealing with the effects of World War II, just as much as the rest of the world was (Disney Timeline, 2013). Funding was limited because of the recession. In 1934, the first full-length animated feature was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Between 1955-1965, Disney introduced Disneyland and in 1966 Walt Disney died (Disney Timeline, 2013). From there, Walt Disney World opened, and new people were in charge of the organization. The current man in charge occupying the positions of President and CEO is Robert Iger (Disney Timeline, 2013).

Throughout 1972 to present, Disney focused its efforts on more feature films and constant updates to the amusement parks and the company continued to expand.
