The Prominence of the First Amendment
Could you imagine what the Americans' lives will be like without the protection given by the First Amendment? Citizens would be going through tough turmoil, their rights would be strongly violated all across the country of the United States, and local and state courts would have a lot more troublesome cases to deal with. I emphatically believe that the First Amendment is the most important amendment to the United States Constitution according to some significant reasons.
Our First Amendment gave us the rights to religious freedom, which is an elemental part of the daily lives of average Americans. First, a statement under the First Amendment described that the Congress of the United States could not establish any faith as the official religion for our nation. For example, you are a believer in the religion of Buddhism, but the United States government forbids any other religion to be practiced except for Christianity, would you be under the circumstance of illegal practice in religion? If the United States Congress decided to make Christianity as our official religion, other religions would not be allow and people would be forced to believe in what they do not believe in. Wouldn't your life be controlled by this law? Thanks to our First Amendment that the national government does not have the authority to bond us to any certain religion. Additionally, the religious freedom right that we possessed may separate the church and government. This is an important aspect to our lives because we do not want any particular church or person of a specific religion to interfere the way our government functions. Think about the England rule back in the middle centuries, when the monarchy rule was combined with the pope rule, the ordinary people were forced to be controlled by two governments. People at that time took sides, which would eventually lead to war or more predicaments. Life would be a chaos if church and...
