Paper 4: Future of Education Essay

Throughout English 15, you have learned how to identify a paper topic, research it, and develop your findings into an engaging and coherent paper. Paper 4 will ask you to show mastery of the concepts we’ve been working on this semester: developing a topic and expressing ideas in detail, appealing to a target audience, choosing an effective organization and structure for your paper, selecting sources that provide valid and useful perspectives on your topic, working out your own thoughts and ideas in relation to your sources’, and presenting a professional, edited document.

Suggested Topics

This final assignment will relate to Unit 4: The Future of Writing/Education, and it will be developed in dialogue with our course readings on online education, Khan Academy, and social media. Here are some suggested topics:

1. Research and design a hypothetical MOOC for ___ course. Write your paper to students who may be interested in enrolling in that course.

2. Based on research on “flipped classrooms,” discuss how you would "flip the classroom" for ___ subject. Write your paper as a guide for teachers of that course.
