NU124/NUR1245 Section 01 Introduction to Professional Nursing

When it comes to the personal critical thinking indicators (CTIs), there are ten that specifically centered on how I operate. The first indicator is that I am Genuine/Authentic. I believe that I stick to my true self and show that to everyone I meet. This will be beneficial to me in the future because, as a nurse; it helps my patients gain a sense of trust within me. If I say that I am a certain way, and display that characteristic, it reassures my patients that I am who I say I am. The second indicator is that I am Curious and Inquisitive. In my job and personal life, I am very curious to find out what can be done to improve on certain situations, and also look for answers to questions that haven't even been asked. In the future, this can help because in the medical field it helps to ask, and then ask again. The third indicator is that I am Confident and Resilient. In my everyday work, personal, or both, I have to be confident in what I am doing. Especially when I at work, I have a job where I must know what I am doing in order for the company to function as a whole. I also must know how to overcome disappointment in my customers. As a future nurse, this indicator is important because my patients need a nurse, who knows exactly what to do, and is confident in their practice. The fourth indicator is that I am Analytical and Insightful. I use this indicator more when it comes to my family. I tend to overthink about an abundance of things. I tend to be the person who asks "why is the sky blue." I think that I will use this indicator quite often as a nurse. I will have to be analytical when trying to find the appropriate way of dealing with my patients, and not just settling with that is obvious. The fifth indicator is that I am honest and upright.
