Exposing employees to poor working conditions is a contemporary ethical issue that faces many companies and organizations, for example Apple Inc. This is despite the governments’ efforts aimed at continuous improvements in workplace environments. For instance, employees are being exposed to unsafe working environments that can harm them or have a negative effect on their general health (Bradshaw para 6). Apple is believed to lack moral principles as a result of it exposing its employees to poor working conditions. Most of them if not all are expected to offer good working conditions. However, they fail to ensure the same citing their own interests (Locke14).

Poor working conditions can entail the workplace having things that are hazardous. For example, companies that may fail to control their employees’ exposure to dangerous chemicals can be endangering their lives. Equally, others can fail to control noise in workplaces, hence making work environments less conducive. Employees may not be in the position to control the situation as it lies exclusively in the hand of their employers. Basically, it is the employer that has the ability to determine the working condition. Apple is expected to ensure its working environments are safe and conducive (Tibken para 4). Essentially, workers should not be harmed in any way as a result of their engagement in different workplaces. It is upon their employers, in this case Apple, to ensure this does not happen. However, many employers chose not to protect the safety of their employees.

There are number of reasons companies or organizations may expose their employees to poor working conditions. For one, companies have exposed their employees to poor working conditions to be able to cut their labor expenses.
