Funding:

There are several sources of funding for the state of New Mexico. Taxes are big source of funding for the state and cities as well. Property taxes are another source for funding for the county. There are also permits that are funding for the state.

Interest Groups:

There are also numerous groups of interest groups in New Mexico and two in which are very important to me would be Albuquerque Public School and another interest group would be MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers). The reasons for choosing these groups were due to the value they bring to our state and the purpose each of these groups serve to the public and its people. My father is a teacher and he is very passionate about teaching others to provide them with a better lifestyle. Everyone complaints about our school system however no one is willing to pay the price for it. This group has an interest in receiving more funds to keep teachers employed and our children educated. The second interest group I am going to discuss is MADD. This group raises money and provides support system for mothers who have lost their children to a drunk driver. They serve a priceless purpose by raising awareness to the public and prevent future families from experiencing similar situations.

Elections:

The election process for New Mexico is standard for most political elections are similar. For the most part, all political candidates running for office have a background in some kind of government job. For example, New Mexico’s governor Bill Richardson has an extended history in government, right out of college he worked for a republican congressman then he moved to New Mexico where he ran for House of Representative and then was the United States Secretary of Energy and eventually was elected governor of New Mexico.
